ABOUT
Elijah Strand is a professional puppeteer and puppet builder in Vancouver BC. His work has appeared at The Salmon Festival, Vancouver Kids Fringe, and Midsummer Festival. He's also began his foray into puppetry for television as a puppet wrangler on local productions. Audiences have praised his puppets’ craftsmanship and smooth, expressive movement. His various self-produced acts include Rags and the Magic Paintbrush, a handcrafted show full of humor and heart about learning to express your inner artist, and Creatures Of Folklore, a roving act that allows participants to get up close and personal with fantastical creatures. He prides in bringing storytelling and a sense of wonder to every project.In 2024 he started his own puppet workshop called Deer Palace Studio, as a base of operations for building puppets and producing his own original content. Visually, his puppets aim to display a loving attention to detail and can range from realistic creatures, to energetic cartoony characters.
